These three people belong to a community of magickers known as the Moonwhite Mages. The Moonwhite Mages are all elvish and live in a small castle in central Goldlight called the Moon Keep. Moonwhite Mages are prognosticating mages, which means that they use their magical powers to foretell future events. Now, to be quite honest about it, their predictions of the future usually rank right up there with "The Sun will rise tomorrow morning" and "There will be snow in the mountains this winter". But they're nice people (for elves, anyway) and they're very good about sharing power with other mages when needed. The Moonwhite Mages can always be counted on to dispatch two or three members of their community to join an effort to defend Weiland.
Each Moonwhite Mage belongs to a specific group within the community. The groups are called corridors, and are distinguished by specific colors: blue, green, red, yellow and violet. Each member of the community is clad entirely in white except for a sash in the color of his or her corridor. They also dye their hair and beards in the appropriate color. Members of the red corridor are not mages. They are instead skilled fighters, responsible for the security of Moon Keep and the safety of the mages when they travel. Although not mages, red corridor members are considered completely equal in staus to the magickers. Moonwhite Mages do not use their family names after being accepted into the community. They substitute the name of their corridor.
Moonwhite Mages apparently draw their magical power from the Moon, and are generally able to tap the power only when the Moon is visible in the sky. Some are able to do so even through heavy cloud cover. We really don't understand this magical stuff very well, so we'll leave it at that.
